FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What Makes WickedGud Whole Wheat Wraps the Better Flatbread in Your Kitchen?

Most people don't think twice about what their wrap is made from. They grab a pack, heat it on a tawa, fill it with whatever's in the fridge, and move on. That's exactly how a wrap should work. The question is just whether the base you're rolling your food into is doing anything useful for you or actively working against your meal.

The maida situation in packaged wraps

If you check the ingredient list on most packaged wraps and rotis sold in India, the first ingredient is maida, refined wheat flour. Maida is produced by milling wheat and removing the bran and germ layers, which strips away most of the natural fibre, protein, and micronutrients. What remains digests rapidly, causes a faster blood sugar response, and offers very little nutritional value beyond calories.

Maida is used in most packaged flatbreads because it's inexpensive, produces an exceptionally soft and pliable texture, and has a longer shelf life than whole wheat alternatives. The softness is real but it comes at the cost of everything that makes a flatbread worth eating regularly.

WickedGud's whole wheat wraps use whole wheat flour as the primary base, not refined flour.

What's inside the wrap

Whole Wheat Flour (Atta), Refined Vegetable Oil, Iodised Salt, Sugar, Emulsifier (INS 471), Humectant (INS 422), Raising Agent (INS 500(ii)), Thickener (INS 412), Preservative (INS 282), Acidity Regulator (INS 330).

The base is whole wheat atta. not maida, making these wraps a better alternative to wraps made with refined flour.

Like all packaged flatbreads designed to stay shelf-stable without refrigeration, these wraps contain FSSAI-approved emulsifiers, a humectant to help retain moisture, and a preservative. These are standard ingredients used in commercially packaged wraps, rotis, and breads to maintain quality, freshness, and shelf life.

What truly differentiates WickedGud is its focus on using a whole wheat atta base instead of refined flour (maida), offering a more wholesome choice without compromising on convenience or taste.

Ready in 15 seconds. No prep needed.

These wraps are ready in seconds, just heat them on a tawa or pan for 8-10 seconds per side, or microwave for 10–15 seconds. They turn soft, flexible, and perfect for filling, with no dough prep, rolling, or resting required.

This makes them practical for the situations where a wrap actually gets used, rushed lunches, after-school rolls, quick dinners when there's no time to make rotis from scratch, or mid-week meal prep when you want to assemble several wraps at once.

What you can make with them

Whole wheat wraps are as versatile as any flatbread in an Indian kitchen. A few uses that work well:

Paneer roll: Toss paneer in a quick masala, add sliced onions, green chutney, and a squeeze of lime. Roll and eat.

Egg bhurji wrap: The classic. Takes 5 minutes, including heating the wrap.

Veggie burrito: Black beans or rajma, rice, shredded cabbage, pickled onions, sour cream or hung curd. The whole wheat base holds up to a heavier fill better than a thin maida wrap.

Leftover sabzi roll: Dal makhani, aloo matar, any dry subzi, a wrap makes last night's dinner into today's lunch.

Schezwan noodle roll: WickedGud Hakka noodles with schezwan sauce, julienned vegetables, wrapped in a whole wheat base. Street-food logic, home kitchen execution.

Quesadilla: Layer the wrap with cheese, sautéed vegetables, paneer, or chicken, fold it in half, and toast until golden and crispy. Serve with salsa, guacamole, or a yogurt dip.

Soft tortillas: Use the wraps as ready-to-go tortillas for tacos, fajitas, or any Mexican-inspired meal with your favorite fillings.

How it compares to making roti from scratch

A homemade whole wheat roti is nutritionally excellent, whole wheat atta, water, and minimal oil. If you have the time and the habit, it's the gold standard. But for the mornings when you don't, or the evenings when you're feeding three people and have 10 minutes, a packaged whole wheat wrap that skips the maida is a better default than a maida-based paratha from a dhaba, a refined flour tortilla, or a bread-based wrap.

It's not a replacement for a fresh roti. It's a replacement for the other packaged option you'd reach for when a fresh roti isn't happening.

Shelf life and storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, refrigerate and consume within 24 hours. The wraps reheat well from refrigeration, 8-10 seconds on a hot tawa brings them back to full softness.
